Social Media can be effectively used “internally” within an organization to engage employees, the way it is used externally to engage customers. I want to share with you a good Slideshare presentation by Polly Pearson of EMC on Social Media: Strategy & Execution that has several good case studies on internal Social Networks.
Notice the impact of engaged employees on business outcomes on slide no. 4. I also like the mantra on slide 23:
- Be Found.
- Be True.
- Be Talked About.
Time has come for HR managers to be passionate about Social Media and embrace Social Networking in a big way so that their most precious resource, namely employees, remain engaged and continue to deliver outstanding business results.
